MIYABI-YA
Kabuki, one of Japan's representative traditional performing arts, is a treasure of
Japanese arts and culture that has continued for about 400 years as the greatest
musical and entertainment of the Edo period (1603-1868), including song, dance,
and action.
Masayuki Futamura, the president of MIYABI-YA, respects and honors the genuine kabuki of those who have honed their craft since childhood and passed it on to future generations as Japan's premier art form, while at the same time, he too, with a firm grasp of the basics and the spirit of fun “eccentricity” that flourished in Edo, are committed to mixing the world-class Japanese CULTURE and the traditional Japanese performing arts and expand globally as JAPANESE ENTERTAINMENT.
MIYABI-YA hopes that Kabuki and traditional performing arts will become their identity and a global tool to express themselves as proud Japanese people to the world.
Their wish is that their activities will make as many people as possible interested in Kabuki and Japanese culture, and that people from other countries will come to love Japan through their activities.
